About Me

Sharon Dawson began her practice in 1975, and has studied many forms of yoga, breath work, and meditation.  In 2005 she trained and certified with Ana Forrest, learning to heal the body, mind and spirit.

Forrest Yoga is a strong, modern style that challenges students physically and mentally through attention to breath, core work, and fluid asana practice.  Classes become a healing journey where students can discover their emotions, transform their experiences into wisdom, and embody their spirits.  Sharon offers clear instruction, playful and creative options, demonstrations, and hands-on assists to help students progress safely at all levels.  Enjoy the transformational aspects of yoga through deep connection to breath, beauty and spirit!

After giving birth to her daughter in 1995, Sharon began to teach prenatal yoga. She trained and certified in Jane Austin’s Mama Tree Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training in 2017 and completed a Forrest Yoga Prenatal Training with Cat Allen of Poppy Prenatal Yoga in 2018. Today, she serves families and women, teaching Pre and Postnatal Yoga.

Sharon seeks to bring healing and joy to traumatized, incarcerated youth through her work with the Art of Yoga Project, a non-profit organization that rehabilitates teenage youth in the juvenile justice system by teaching them art, yoga, and journaling. Search for her videos on the AYP YouTube channel.

Sharon Dawson has over 25 years of teaching experience.  She is a Forrest Yoga International Ambassador, Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, Mama Tree Prenatal, and Art of Yoga Project certified instructor.
